Yesterday was a special day for Ms Ma Phyu as she was baptized. As she went down into the water, she symbolically buried her old self and rose up again as a new creation in Christ. This act of baptism represents her faith in Jesus, who not only died for her sins but also rose from the dead to conquer death. As Colossians 2:12 says, "Having been buried with him in baptism, you also have been raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead."
Through baptism, Ms Ma Phyu publicly declared her commitment to follow Jesus and be a part of his family. She is now a member of the body of Christ, and her baptism is a powerful reminder that she has been forgiven and set free from the bondage of sin. She has been raised to new life, and now has the Holy Spirit dwelling within her, empowering her to live a life that honors God.
As we rejoice with Sister Ma Phyu in her decision to follow Jesus, let us also be reminded of our own baptism and the new life that we have been given in Christ. Let us walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and live our lives as a testimony to the world of the hope and salvation that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
